Frequently asked questions.
How much does it cost?
While we don't disclose specific pricing online, it's not about hiding costs but rather recognizing that each client's path is distinct. At TRU Wellness, we understand that your health is an invaluable investment, and we want to ensure that our services align perfectly with your unique needs. We believe in fostering a personalized approach to health and wellness. I encourage you to schedule a Discovery Call with me. During this conversation, we'll explore your health goals, and if we find that we are a great fit for each other, we can discuss details about the ultimate package. This single package price includes everything you need – all labs and meeting sessions, fees included in the price. I want to assure you that there are no hidden charges; transparency and your well-being are at the forefront of my approach. Let's take the next step together on your path to optimal health.
Do you accept insurance?
No, I do not currently accept insurance due to the fact that many insurance providers do not classify natural medicine or alternative healing approaches as eligible billable services. However, depending on your Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA), you may have the flexibility to use HSA/FSA funds to cover certain services, including supplements and lab testing. While some clients have pursued reimbursement for lab costs through their insurance, this outcome is not guaranteed and is relatively uncommon.
What is a Discovery Call?
A Discovery Call is an initial conversation designed to explore your unique health and wellness journey. During this call, I'll get to know you better, including your health goals, concerns, and what you're looking to achieve. It's an opportunity for you to ask questions, learn about our approach, and understand how my services can benefit you. We'll discuss your individual needs, and together, we'll determine if our programs align with your wellness objectives. It's a no-obligation, relaxed conversation aimed at helping you make an informed decision about your health and wellness path.
What labs do you use?
At TRU Wellness, we are committed to providing a comprehensive and individualized approach to your health and wellness journey. To achieve this, we employ a series of advanced lab tests, each serving a specific purpose in our holistic assessment. These six labs are crucial to our approach:
Salivary Hormone Panel (SHP): We use this panel to delve into the intricate world of hormones. Hormonal imbalances can have far-reaching effects on your well-being, and understanding these imbalances is crucial for addressing underlying health concerns.
Metabolic Wellness Panel (MWP): Our MWP offers a detailed examination of your metabolic health. By identifying imbalances and nutritional deficiencies, we gain valuable insights into your unique metabolic profile.
Mucosal Barrier Assessment (MBA): The MBA focuses on the integrity of your mucosal barriers, which play a pivotal role in your overall health. An assessment of these barriers provides essential information for crafting your wellness plan.
GI MAP: The GI MAP test is a comprehensive analysis of your gut health. It uncovers issues related to the gastrointestinal system, microbiome, and more, helping us address a wide range of digestive concerns.
MRT Food Sensitivity Test: We utilize the MRT test to pinpoint specific food sensitivities that may be contributing to your health issues. This information guides us in creating a personalized dietary plan tailored to your unique sensitivities.
Metabolic Type Diet (MT Diet): The MT Diet test assists in identifying your metabolic type, enabling us to develop a diet that aligns with your individual needs with metabolism and promotes optimal wellness.
These advanced diagnostics serve as the cornerstone of our approach, allowing us to uncover the root causes of your health issues. With this detailed understanding, we can craft a personalized wellness program designed to promote lasting health and vitality. We also have additional testing to dig deeper into uncovering health concerns, if needed.
How soon before I start seeing results?
In terms of healing and recovery, it varies from person to person. However, our guiding principle is that it typically takes about one month of healing for each year your body has been experiencing health issues. So, if you've been unwell for a year, you could start noticing improvements in just a couple of weeks. On the other hand, if it's been a decade of health concerns, it might take up to a year to fully recover. Keep in mind that the speed and extent of healing also depend on your commitment to following the recommended protocol and making necessary lifestyle adjustments. Nonetheless, it's important to remember that individual experiences differ, and the more comprehensive the testing, the more potential opportunities for healing may be revealed. Please understand that this response does not guarantee specific results, as they can vary from person to person.
Will I receive a diagnosis?
No, Functional Diagnostic Nutritionists (FDNs) do not function as medical doctors. We do not provide diagnoses or treat anything specifically. Instead, our role is to empower our clients to proactively enhance their well-being. We accomplish this by educating them on achieving balance and restoring lost bodily function. Our approach is guided by the insights gathered from the comprehensive lab tests we conduct. We believe that an official diagnosis may not be essential when you can effectively identify and address all the areas in your body where healing potential exists. Over time, we've assisted numerous individuals, much like yourself, in overcoming their symptoms and reclaiming their health and vitality.
How do you order labs if you’re not a doctor?
As we follow a client-centric approach, we empower clients to take control of their healthcare by enabling them to independently request lab tests. What we do is facilitate this process by having a licensed healthcare professional in our medical director program sign off on and authorize the specific lab tests you need. This way, we can offer access to a wide range of lab tests, thanks to our collaboration with these healthcare professionals.
The ability for individuals to directly request lab tests has grown more accessible over time, making it easier for people to take charge of their health. However, it's important to note that in some states, like New York, there may be certain restrictions on this practice. Regardless of how the labs are initiated, our highly trained practitioners are there to guide you through the interpretation of your test results and work with you to develop a personalized healing plan.
My doctor recently ran labs, can I use those instead?
No, We conduct laboratory tests to evaluate the functioning of different bodily systems, including hormones, the immune system, detoxification, digestion, and more. The tests your doctor may have performed are primarily aimed at identifying diseases and may not provide the same in-depth insights as our assessments.
Nonetheless, if you have test results from your doctor, we strongly recommend that you include them when submitting your intake paperwork. This additional information can be valuable for our comprehensive case review.
If I don’t feel better in 90 days, can I get a refund?
No, the reason behind this is that good health cannot be guaranteed. Achieving optimal health is often a journey that spans a significant period, not a single event. This journey demands time and effort, especially on your part.
However, one thing we can guarantee is that you no longer have to rely on guesswork or trial-and-error methods to achieve better health. We commit to being your steadfast companions throughout this journey, providing you with precise guidance on what steps to take in order to attain optimal health.
In the end, the key to success lies in your commitment to follow through with the recommended protocol. We offer a tried-and-tested DRESS protocol that has been instrumental in helping numerous individuals significantly improve their well-being.
